Hello, My name is Colleen and I am a small, responsible breeder of Cavapoos and Cockapoos. My husband and I live in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of rural Upstate New York. Our dogs have access to romp and roam on our 20-acre hobby farm. Our philosophy has been, and will continue to be, to focus on quality over quantity.
Having many years of experience breeding AKC-registered Golden Retrievers, I decided now that I am moving toward my retirement years, that the smaller, hypoallergenic dogs were a better fit; especially, after purchasing our first Cavapoo, Harlee, and seeing what a sweet, fun-loving dog she is.
All of our puppies are born and raised in our home with their parents until they are weaned. Mommy is then returned to her guardian family who love and care for her, while both Daddy (Bam Bam) and Harlee live here with us. We have many grandchildren who love to play with all of our dogs.
Our pups are sold as family pets only, and I take extra measures to ensure you will be receiving a good quality, healthy dog. Our parents are DNA-tested and are up-to-date on their shots and worming. Their hearts, eyes and patellas are also tested by a certified veterinarian. A one-year congenital health guarantee comes with each puppy, as well as a veterinarian health assessment and first set of shots and worming.
We raise F1 and F1b generation pups; which simply means: F1 is the cross between two full-bred dogs, or 50/50 – low shedding. F1b is using an F1 dog and breeding it back to a full-bred Poodle, or 25/75 – which makes the pups hypoallergenic. In our case, a Cavapoo is a King Charles Spaniel and Miniature Poodle and Cockapoo is the cross between a Cocker Spaniel and Miniature Poodle; thus, creating a “designer” breed which expresses the best traits of each breed – or, what is termed "hybrid vigor". Both make wonderful family pets that are highly intelligent, easy to train, lovable and hypoallergenic. Both breeds can weigh between 12 and 24 lbs. as an adult. Our Cavapoo moms and Poodle each weigh 12 lbs., and our Cockapoo mom weighs 20 lbs.
I would recommend a Cavapoo to a family who is looking for a fun dog with a more relaxed temperament, and Cockapoos to active families, having children who love to play and tend to have more energy.
